  1. Oh, this reminds me so much of Sakai, Osaka Prefecture. The little stores in amongst the newer, taller buildings. I love the soft light of the older building against the harsh light of the modern concrete one. I remember the polite, helpful shop owners who rarely see a Gaijin, and the purchase made with my limited japanese. I love the narrow streets and the mix of old and new Japan. I keep checking my photos to see if it is actually where I have been, but no, it is just the feeling of Japan that makes them seem so familiar. I am quite moved. Thanks Ben. Lesley Expat Kiwi

  2. It looks like this little shop survived. I see many buildings displaced by new developments in my area. It's good to capture these remaining bits of the past. I like the green color of the sign on the left giving the image a splash of freshness.
