Flap Away

Nelson, New Zealand

Nikon D200
AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-210mm F4-5.6D @ 210mm
F5.6, 1/15, ISO-400

Slow telephoto at evening... getting bit dark for taking sharp image. I decided to limit ISO instead of setting too high but wide open so hoping some slow but decent shutter speed of 1/8 to 1/30 range. It captured movement of wing very well.
You can find some more series shots in my flickr stream.

  1. Nice shot too, Ben!
But I think what moving bird silhouette from the center little bit left and down (another cropping) can take a bit more expression in this image.
Of course it's only my opinion.

    1. Thanks Artem.

I kind agree that offsetting subject is better in composition wise. Now, you see where the focus point was set on camera. Centre on on D200 seems most responsive in some occasion. This is just straight off the camera with no adjustment (Well, it is a default conversion with LR3 from RAW file)

I appreciate your positive and constructive input! So thank you so much!
