I added quite lot's of vignette on this image. My intention was draw the eye into the cross at fist, but draw back to the simple structure of this little church.
This is a great shot Ben! You caught the light just right to define the corrugations on the roofing iron and show that beautiful reflected light on the church wall and under the eaves. The nice tight framing has given just the right composition. The strength and richness of the hues in the sky and on the roof contrast nicely with the gentler more subtle light on the wall below. The lower key tones at the bottom of the frame seem to balance well with the depth of the sky at the top. The vignette has worked very well.
Its amazing how the autumn NZ light seems to glide down these weatherboard clad buildings making them so very special. Beautiful capture!
