Now I really do like this retro building lit up by the neon signs Ben. You have done another excellent job with your D200 in capturing the mood of night so faithfully here. I really like the red glow of the STATE sign with the blue streak through it and all the small points of light on and under the awning. The next thing I like is the upper windows because there is the mystery of 'I wonder what is in there?' There seems to be life and things going on upstairs which I find interests me more than the patrons in the foyer for some reason.
Thanks, Gavin. I was planning to take this cinema at night for couple of month. I finally did by two different day. I took different angle, more car in front and so on. May be if there is more people in front, it will be more interesting though. It is one of very few place with those neon lights in town and it is so much fun to take a picture. I'm sure I'll comeback this topic again.
Meg, Yes, when that construction on front of them was finished.
I like this one a lot. Really reminds me of my youth, when my brother and I would spend time each summer at my maternal grandparent's house. Their small town had a downtown theater with neon lights. My grandfather would take us and drop us off for Saturday afternoon movies.

ReplyDeleteAnd the best thin-crust pizza place on upstairs!!! Ben, we need to shoot Hot Rock Pizza next time, too.

ReplyDeleteCheers, John and thanks for sharing your memory. I'm glad you like it and the photo reminds something to somebody.
