    The effect of the telephoto lens gives this compacted feel of subject and back ground. In this case, that is very desirable and gives a good feel to the composition.

    Reminds me of a scene from an Italian movie, Nanni Moretti's "Caro Diario" (Dear Diary), which is rich with great photography. One scene, at an island port, shows a large white ship slowly gliding into port, almost like in your photo. Another film with great photography scenes from a container port is Aki Kaurismäki's "The Man Without a Past".
