Ben, I'm so happy to have stumbled upon your photoblog. This is a stunning macro, and the overlapping portions of the leaf look like intersecting roads. Your work is incredible, and I look forward to exploring your archives when I have more time.
This looks like a perfect specimen. The lines flow so nicely in this design. I am suspecting that some of the light at least is from behind the leaf and so is giving some glow to it. A beautiful natural design.
Ben I hope you have this printed real big and hung on a very very large pure white wall... anything less would do the photo an injustice I love it !!!!!
It's it a backlit and no flash. I picked young lief of "Piece Lilly" placed by the window. The colour is slightly adjusted by Lightroom to enhance a glow.
