Love the pidgeon! I think this is what was once known as James Smith's corner (a wonderful department store that traded many years ago in Wellington). Memory is hazy and the refurb is a little distracting, but modes of transport come to mind with this shot. Believe it or not it is not far from what was known as Pigeon Park. Lesley Expat Kiwi
Thanks for the location Ben! It must be the old DIC Department Store. Midland Park must be were the old Midland Hotel once stood in the 60's (demolished as an earthquake risk but the wrecking ball could not bring it down). Still love the Pidgeon in this shot on his own crossing. I do like the themes you seem to capture, as well the colouring and composition. Lesley Expat Kiwi

PS Or this could be Stewart Dawson's corner. I have been away too long! Like the hint of beige.

I think It's Lambton Quay and Johnston street corner. The green path at left is the Midland Park.
