This is excellent Ben - an immediate hit with me as the image loaded. I like everything about it, the peacefulness, the formality of the garden, the framing of the fountain through the arch and of course the sun glinting on the fountain structure and lighting up the droplets of water. I have no doubt that b & w was the best choice as I think it removes any distractions and leaves this great composition to be appreciated for its design qualities. I find the arch beckons the me to enter into this most pleasant scene.
I think this is very classic (typical in other word?) framing of formal gardens. Lighting was good for highlighting the water feature. I converted to B&W like Gavin suggested in his comment to eliminate distraction form colours of foreground leaves.
i feel welcome at this place, as if i'm being led to the fountain :)
ReplyDeleteI like how the drops of water stand out, even this far away.
ReplyDeletebeautiful black and white

ReplyDeleteNice black and white composition Ben. Good straight forward framing.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the fountain water is lit, almost like light itself. Gorgeous image, and love it in B&W.
ReplyDeleteThanks , everyone.
